Dharamshala: The Department of Information and International Relations (DIIR) is convening a three-day Training for Trainers Workshop on the Middle Way Approach (UMAYLAM) in Dharamshala from 16-18 August to elevate fundamental awareness about the CTA’s official policy and its way forward among youth leaders and activists.
A total of some 17 participants comprising staff of DIIR and representatives of NGOs are attending the workshop which was inaugurated this morning by Additional Secretary Tenzin Lekshay (CTA spokesperson).
“Considering the dire situation inside Tibet, the CTA has been imparting similar workshops for the last many years with an undisputed assurance that Umaylam is the only strategic resolution to alter the political status quo of Tibet to one that is mutually beneficial to both Tibet and Beijing,” contended CTA’s Spokesperson while explaining the coherence of the Middle Way Approach and emphasising its relevance given the unprecedented prospect of Xi Jinping remaining in power for a third consecutive term.
“While the international community has been more vocal on the Tibet crisis lately, simultaneously, we cannot ignore China’s growing influence which is why we must, as proposed by His Holiness the Dalai Lama- hope for the best and prepare for the worst especially now with the advancing age of His Holiness, ” he added and advised the participants to embrace proactive engagement in the workshop.
The three-day workshop funded by NDI and USAID is trained by Kavita Arora and Jaya both of whom have 20 plus years of experience in leadership and capacity building in space of institutions, social and corporate sectors.
